Ministry of Economic Development Montenegro

As the national innovation funding body, the Department of Innovation and Technological Development of the Ministry of Economic Development of Montenegro is in charge of implementing several funding schemes designed to support research and innovation projects.

Within our innovation programmes, we offer a number of financial instruments such as calls for proposals for innovative projects, special support to startups in both pre-acceleration process and development of innovative ideas, promotion of innovative culture, smart specialisation education programmes, Eureka Network projects and support for IPR protection on national, European and worldwide levels. Our national project coordinators (NPCs) offer support and assistance to companies in the application process for Horizon Europe programmes (e.g. EIT and EIC). Thanks to local market knowledge, the Eureka NPC offers support for the application procedure, facilitates access to national funding and helps with partner search.

• Funding tools: support for innovative SMEs, startups and research institutions in the development and implementation of innovative projects.

• Advisory services:

  • Assistance to companies in the process of registering as national innovative organisations

  • Support in the preparation of applications and checking the eligibility of thematic priorities and administrative procedures

  • Obtaining additional time after the deadline for submitting project proposals and prior to external evaluation for the completion of necessary documentation

• Partner search: in collaboration with Eureka NPCs and EEN, the Ministry offers specialised services for finding a partner in national and international projects using its networks and the interactive Scientific Network online system.
